You will be based at one school for the majority of your training but will also have the opportunity to attend in-person training sessions at our partnership schools.
There will be 10 in-person standalone training days through the year in a hub school local to you, and 4 blocks of 3 days for Intensive Training & Practice weeks, where travel to one of our excellent regional host schools (London, Birmingham, Ipswich) will be required.
You will also travel to another school for your second placement.
The rest of the REAch Teach training will be online, and all of the university programme is also delivered online.
Many of our trainees go on to teach in their employing school, or another school in the local partnership, once they are suitably qualified and have successfully passed the course; however, this cannot be guaranteed.
We offer employability support throughout your training year, including supporting local networking and training on school recruitment processes.
It is really important that you are passionate about a career in teaching and excited about the prospect of becoming a teacher!
We are looking for candidates who show potential: this means you need to demonstrate an eagerness to learn, a reflective attitude, attention to detail, and an ability to adapt and thrive under pressure.
All candidates must hold a UK Honours degree (or equivalent). If you are currently studying towards an undergraduate degree, you must have completed the course prior to commencing the training programme (by usually August 31st prior to commencing).
Our website contains all of the funding and entry requirements for this year’s programme and can be accessed by clicking here. The programme outline and requirements can also be found on the DFE Find & Apply portal.
All applicants must have the right to work and study in the UK to be eligible for training with REAch Teach. Unsalaried programmes are not able to sponsor visas.
