Entry
Requirements
We are looking for people with passion, determination and commitment who have the skills and qualities needed to become exceptional primary school teachers, improving lives and life chances. To apply for a place on our training programme, candidates must meet the following entry requirements:
GCSE passes or equivalent* at Grade C/4 or above/in English, maths and science.
*We prefer candidates to have already gained the required GCSEs on application. If not, it is possible to obtain an equivalency through www.equivalencytesting.com and we would encourage this to take place as soon as possible in the year. Please contact us with any questions.
Applicants must have an Undergraduate Honours degree or equivalent, with a minimum classification of 2:2. Where an applicant has gained a degree overseas, applicants are responsible for providing the UK ENIC evidence that the degree award is comparable to a UK undergraduate degree. This evidence will be checked against the original certificates.
In exceptional cases, we will consider applications from candidates who received a third-class (honours) degree due to extenuating circumstances. This will be subject to agreement by a panel convened to assess each application on a case-by-case basis.
A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required as part of pre-enrolment. Any endorsements on DBS (previous criminal convictions) will be subject to risk assessment and approval by a panel convened to assess each application on a case-by-case basis.
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for training with REAch Teach.
Trainees completing an Initial Teacher Training Programme must demonstrate the required competencies in the Fundamentals of English and Maths outlined by the Department for Education before Qualified Teacher Status is awarded.
Through the year, this will be determined through a combination of skills audits, tests, on-placement assessment and any other means determined necessary.
